In days of old
the world was dazzled with gold.
Silver was shiny too,
available to more than a few.
Then iron proved most useful all,
so we built many a structure so tall.
Now we find clay is common and easy to get,
so we include it in all that we bet,
until the day when we crumble and fall
on the stone that will crush us all.
