Words to Live By

The princes inside are like wolves tearing their prey, by shedding blood and destroying lives in orer to get dishonest gain. Their prophets have smeared whitewash for them, seeing false visions and divining lies for them, saying; "This is what the Lord say when the Lord has not spoken. The people of the land practiced oppression and committed, and they have wronged the poor and the needy and they have oppressed the sojourners without Justice. (From Jeremiah 22)

Jesus told the people, as recorded in Matthew 25: Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the gentle people, the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are those who are merciful, for they shall receive mercy. Blessed are. those who are pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
