Time Times and half a Time
"The Lord will pass through to smite the enslavers; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two door posts, the Lord will passover the door and will not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to smite you."
"Give us advice; make a decision. Cast your shadow like high noon: Hide the outcasts; do not betray the fugitive. Let the outcasts stay with you; be a hiding place for them from the destroyer."i
"Let the outcasts stay with you; be a hiding place to them from the destroyer."
"In the long run. . . A throne will be established in lovingkindness, and a judge will sit on it in faithfulness. He will seek justice.
"Let justice roll down like the waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream."
"Now in case a countryman of yours becomes poor, and his earnings falter, then you are to sustain him, like a stranger or a sojourner, so that he may live with you."
"For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited me in."
" Say what? When did we see you a stranger, and invite you in?"
Then King of Kings will answer: 'To whatever extent you did it for one of my people, even the least among them, you did it to me."
And by 'n by, along came Emma Lazarus, raising up the huddled masses, affording them deliverance from the destroyer.
"Give me your tired, your poor, / Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free"
