Train Times Rhymes
This train's bound for glory
This train carries a story
Time, times, there was a time
When travelin 'trains were fine
This train don't carry no gamblers
This train takes old folk ramblers
If we miss the train you're on
We'll know that this train's gone
We sing disappearin' railroad blues
We travel in fading, graying hues
Going to Georgia on that midnight train
Singing that ole train song refrain
People get ready, there's a train a'coming
You can hear that ole' number nine a' drumming
Distant moaning of the train
seems to play a sad refrain
Find me a place in a boxcar
So I take my guitar. . .
But keep that long train running
keep them big wheels turnin'
Where's Casey Jones when you need him?
Homeward bound, wish I could go home again
Maybe take that Wabash Cannonball
We don't need no aereoplane at all
We need to stay on track and steady
Oh, people. . .People get ready
There's a train a'comin'
I hear that smokestack drummin'.
Where's John Henry, that steel-drivin' man?
Must be buried under Hoover dam.
Underground Railroad rides again
Underground Railroad rides again.
Ride me on that good news train
Ride me again and again and again.
Ole Uncle Tom finally caught that Underground Railroad
Ole Jake left his coal mine for that Underground Railroad
Ed Clark tossed his necktie off Underground Railroad
Underground Railroad Rides Again
